Programme design

A bespoke 10-week lifestyle, health and weight management programme created using healthspan, a live well, live longer methodology that takes a deep dive into the key drivers of your health behaviour. Think about going on safari with a small group of people all wanting to live more of the life they want and deserve. It’ll be eye wateringly honest and fun too!

What's in store?

Each participant will complete a pre-programme questionnaire that will form the basis of a personalised plan, incorporating the five critical elements below.  Your plan will focus on long term change because we know that quick fixes and miracle cures are a false economy, especially where our health is concerned.  It’s a jungle out there with no end of advice about what to do and not all of it helpful!  It’s also never too late to learn something new in the knowledge that you are in safe hands.

Nutrition – food quality and variety, snacking and portion control, reducing UPFs (ultra processed foods) the UK’s typical diet is now 60%-70% UPF.  Appetite and hunger cues work, sugar sensitivity work, calorie counting, fats, stimulus control (paying attention to what is bought into the home), supermarket upselling tactics, back of pack labelling and food tracking (for one week only).

Behavioural – skills work, planning, problem solving, flexibility, eating regularity/window, habit and routine changes, eating rate, recovery from eating setbacks to manage the ‘I’ve blown it’ effect, finding your flow in hobbies/activities, understanding ambivalence and adherence.

Cognitive – diet mentality trap, food beliefs, food script (your food story), unhelpful thinking styles, inner critic.

Emotional – what is food replacing? triggers, defusion work, understanding cravings/bingeing (if this is an issue), compassionate self-acceptance, accepting deeper or dangerous emotion safely, anger/rage, family upsets, the power of letting go. Body image work.

Lifestyle – looking at life through a number of lens: work, social, family, relationships, home, friendships, food spend.

Group Coaching

Five 90-minute fortnightly interactive sessions in a small (6-8) closed group setting where we’ll shed light on important topics like, sleep, stress, cravings, appetite, hunger, intermittent fasting, yo-yoing, supplements, diet mentality and the food industry.  You will use the follow-up weeks in between to work on your plan with your programme buddy.

By programme close, you will be clear about the skills needed to reduce stress, improve sleep, reduce cravings and binge behaviour, (if this is an issue) as well as learning what it takes to lose, manage and maintain your weight.   This has as much to do with your mindset, confidence and lifestyle as it has to do with food.  You will also be better equipped to manage eating setbacks.

We will celebrate and meet online for the last time in week ten and consider whether ongoing group support is needed, or perhaps the occasional 121 with me.
